Our little Teddy Bear

Jens Teo Jacobsen 1 week old photoshoot
This outfit was actually Cory's baby blessing outfit and the blanket is one Cory got while out on his Mission in Pennslyvania, its from the Amish.

Baby girls look out- ignore the bad tie knot, i sent Cory out minutes before our appt to buy this cute baby tie and then forgot to have Cory fix it so it didn't look boxy.

Future athlete

This hat was one my family in Peru sent when Sophie was born and the background is a blanket that Cory's mom made for Jens.

Jens barely fit into Cory's hardhat!

Jens Teo Jacobsen was born July 19, 2010 at 5:44 pm weighing in at 9 lbs 5 oz, and measuring 21 inches long. The name Jens is after Cory's grandpa's grandpa and Teo "tay-o" is for Cory's other great grandpa who's name was Theopolis and for my daddy who goes by Teo (spanish form of Theo) when we're visiting spanish countries and people can't pronounce his name Ted.

Surprisingly with this being my 2nd pregnancy baby Jens did not come earlier or exactly on his due date the 18th, so I was induced on the 19th refusing to go through another day of discomfort waiting on him. For being such a big baby he is by no means a chubb even though thats one of his nicknames :) he's long, doesn't have a fat head, and has the typical boy chicken legs. The only places he shows that he has any fat is in his cheeks and the back of his neck so most likely he's going to have the metabolism and build of his daddy and be the next track star of the family.
Sophie is a wonderul big sister to her baby brother and loves to help change his diaper, burp him, and smother him with kisses- she's always kissing him and wanting to hold him. The only sign of jealousy she is showing is that since Jens is currently sleeping in our room she has become more difficult to put to sleep this is what we do every night now: us- "time for bed" s: "nooooo!" us: "yes" then its chase after her and carry her while she's attempting to headbutt us to the bathroom to brush teeth, then to her room to get her pjs on, and then to our room where we read stories on our bed. When its the last book we use to be able to tell her that it was the last one, read it, and then carry her to her room where we'd tuck her in give her kisses and leave and she'd fall asleep on her own. Now we have to deal with her crying as we carry her from our room to hers and then we have to sit next to her while she's in her crib until she falls asleep or else she will stand up and start crying and calling for us until we come back. I know some "experts" say to just leave and let her cry and she'll gradually give up but not Sophie she will continue to cry until she's shaking from crying soo much and will start screaming instead of admiting defeat so I don't care what the "experts" say its much easier on all of us to just sit with her. Besides the bedtime drama the transition hasn't been bad at our house.

As for Jens he is the most laidback little guy ever! Again taking after his daddy. He is very gentle and loves to snuggle and never gest mad at Sophie for constantly being in his face. He's a fast eater (done in 15mins unlike sophie who took anywhere from 45mins to an hour to nurse the first 4 mons) and we have another great sleeper- we only get up once during the night to nurse. We're very happy with our new addition and looking forward to watching our two little ones grow up. :)
The pictures above were taken as a baby gift to us from one of our friends from our new neighborhood, they turned out soo cute, thanks soo much Anisha! Next weekend she's going to take pictures of all of us so be watching for those!

He's so sweet! My favorite is the close up with him wearing the hat :) I love his little face! As far as following what the experts say, don't worry about it- you know your child best! Good luck!
