Fall Fun

Earlier this month we had a week with lots of rain which equals A LOT of time spent indoors, one day when the sun started to break through the kids and i decided to head for the hills and went on a nice little hike.

Sophie and Jens getting out all that pent-up energy

It was still windy that day and the rain started back up for a moment that caught the kids by surprise :)

 Taking a break
the trail went through a neighborhood so the kids took advantage of the fences and did some climbing.
And what fall activity isn't complete without leaves?

We also took advantage of the over-cast skies to do a photo shoot of Sophie for her up-coming Rapunzel Themed Birthday Party, here is a little sneek preview:

Later this month we had to roll up our sleeves and rake the leaves in our yard so here's a little video of the kiddos:

When we haven't been outside the kids have become quite the little builders, they built this "town" by themselves while i was cooking dinner one night.  We might have future architects and engineers in the family. :)
Last week they wanted to have a "sleep-over" complete with hot cocoa, cookies, and a movie.  Here they are all bundled up and ready for bed in Sophie's room.  Of course they didn't fall right asleep, we could hear them giggling and talking with one another which just reminded me of when my sister, brother, and i would have sleepovers in my room (i had the big bed).
