June

Here's what we've been up to so far this summer:
Playing dress-up with Mami's shoes
 Pool fun in the backyard

Visiting Hogle Zoo, Cory got us a season pass this year so we have trying to make the most of it and going as often as we can.  Here's Jens, the rhino whisperer.
Sophie is such a big girl now and is proud that she climbed all by herself to the top of Mr. Rhino's head
Actually had the Tiger pose for a picture!
Sophie with one of her good friends Sammie, her family also bought a pass.
 Be the gorilla
 Sophie now "being the gorilla"
Over Father's Day weekend we went up to Pineview Reservoir with our neighbors and the scouts for some boating fun, here's Daddy, Jens, and Sophie heading to the water.
Sophie and Sara.  Sophie had a blast playing with the older girls, swimming in the water, and building sandcastles.
Jens DID NOT like his life vest for this reason:
 But he LOVED tubing!
He was very focused on holding on to his strap and enjoying the sights
Having a great time with Daddy
Sophie on the other hand, we discovered her first real fear (monsters don't count)
She held on for dear life and told Daddy she was done and wanted out

Happy to be back on dry land  afterwards we had a hot dog roast and then headed to Ogden for some famous Farr's ice cream before going home.
Went back to the zoo to celebrate our niece, Tegan's 3rd birthday, it was a really hot day so we made sure to hit the new bear exhibit first.  Jens walking through a tree tunnel.
With the new polar bear statue
Kayci, our other niece who is thesame age as Jens wanted to walk with her big cousin Sophie.  Sophie enjoyed holding her hand until she discovered she couldn't eat her ice cream cone as well hahaha.
the carosel with Tegan and Tia Leah
for some reason Jens was scared of the carosel this day so i had to ride with him.
 Tegan loved the rides!
 Daddy and Jens
 Silly faces!
By the end of the day all of our kids were onry and tired because of how hot it was.  While waiting for Cory and Jens to come out of the restroom this is what Sophie did:
Other things we've done- went up to Bear Lake for the Jacobsen Family reunion.  While it was too cold to go swim in the lake we did have fun biking, playing games, going go-karting, roasting smores, and swimming at the community indoor pool.  Besides the zoo adventure for Tegan's birthday there was a birthday bash for her up in Logan and we drove up to celebrate with her.  Leah had asked me to make her cake too which i had a great time doing.  Sorry for no pictures.  And Lastly the kids and i have been doing swim lessons at our local rec center.  Sophie's have been every day m-f and Jens and i have been taking a mom and tot class  twice a week on m/w.   Both of them love the water and have loved going swimming everyday, Sophie's latest desire is to be a swim instructor!  They both have excelled in their classes, Jens finished and passed his class today andSophie passed her level 1 class and tomorrow will be her test day to see if she will pass level 2, good luck sweetheart!
Here is sophie in the lifevest train practicing water safety. :)
Sophie listening and waiting for her teacher to give the ok to jump in.  She was always dying to get in and swim, somedays were harder than others and she'd be swimming and dunking her head under the water soo much that she'd forget to listen to teacher. lol  We are thoroughly enjoying summer at our house and hope you all are too!
